The Leadership Team

Our highly qualified and experienced Leadership Team are dedicated to providing outstanding Early Years Education as well as support for families and staff.
Our managers are over and above ratios which means they are able to support in all the rooms continually raising standards and ensuring quality provision.
There is always a manager available during opening hours and 2pm at peak times, so please ask to speak to one of them. However, at certain times, for example
9am to 3pm we may ask you to wait a few moments.

Scarlett Lightning

Manager

Scarlett, Manager/SENCo, has worked at the centre since 2019 when she was on her student placement.
She has been Manager since March
2023.She holds a Level 3 in Early Years Education and Level 3 SENCO and is an Adult
and Paediatric First Aider.

Apprentices

We are happy to support apprenticeships at Sunflower Children’s Centre. Our Apprentices are all working towards a Level 3 in Early Years Education which is an 18 month industry based course run in conjunction with Eden Training, a national award winning provider. They also complete their Paediatric First Aid. Our apprentices are supported by fully qualified, experienced staff at all times while caring for children.

Chef and Housekeeping

Our meals and snacks are prepared fresh on site by our Chef. We offer a wide variety of meals, puddings and snacks that provide the children and staff a healthy balanced diet. Where possible we source local, in season produce to try new ideas and old school favorites.
We try and include the children in planning our menus and we also hold a cooking club for our older children. We corporate a 3 week menu that is reviewed at the changing of the seasons. This is sent out to parents for information however, we may need to change it due to supply issues or the ever changing British weather!
We are able to cater for most dietary requirements so please talk to us if your child has a specific diet. We always encourage children to try new tastes and are able to offer an alternative if necessary.

All of our staff have taken at least a Level 1 in Food Safety in Education Settings as well as Allergy Awareness training. Our chefs and managers as well as some practitioners also hold a Level 3 in Food Safety so there is always someone on site. We hold a 5 Star Food Standards agency rating.
